Our Mother’s Day appeal this year builds on this theme of what mothers give their children. We are asking you to help fund these good and important works in honor/memory of your mother.
- I don’t know about you, but I have trouble imagining what it is like to be a mother far from home, in a foreign country, who needs to provide for her children. But this is the very population of God’s people whom the Daughters of Charity serve in Mexico.
- Early during the war in Ukraine, I heard a woman there say (on the radio), “One day you are driving your daughter to the dentist and the next your apartment building has been bombed.” How do they do it? Well, Vincentians are helping them, that’s (partly) how!
- Then there are the moms in the Philippines where it seems every year a typhoon destroys many, many houses. How do these mothers manage in tents and partially repaired homes? They draw on support from the tireless Vincentians serving there.
